FAVORITE THURSDAY // 02

Have are some of my favorite things this week.

I saw this tonight at Kate Spade and I can't even stand it. So cute!

I am usually a bright nail polish kinda girl but I bought this
color this week and it's a nice change.

It's white. It's simple. It's chevron.

SOCIETY SOCIAL

In my search to find out more about this, I found the origin of the beautifully styled room.
Society Social is a new manifesto magalog that is all about living up. They create a range from
bar carts to hostess threads. This June magalog is the second one they have served up and
I will definately be checking out this next one.

FLAMINGO MINGLE

1

This little seating area is styled so well...very girly and whimsical. But that flamingo
artwork really steals the show.

Once I went to the Cozamia site to find out more about the flamingo print, I found that I
could have for my own. I would love to have flamingos mingling in my hallway. I was
surprised to see this print displayed vertically on Cozamia but it was hung horizontally
in the room above...brilliant!

FOLLOW THE PATH

These pillows blew me away over on Elle Decor. They linked to ABC Home but when
I clicked to find out more I could not the pillows on the site... Am I missing something?

I did find these pillows on ABC Home however and I love them all.

I also found some great accessories...this beaded giraffe is way too cute! I imagine that
golden, spotted, faceted votive gives off a wonderful ambience.

THE RECEPTION

Our reception was also held at King Plow Arts Center. I liked the ease of every one of just
transitioning from room to room. We got married in the same room we held the reception in
and guests were moved to the gallery for a cocktail hour while they flipped the room.
The design team did a fanatastic job at making my vision come to life.

I never decided on a theme for our wedding... I guess it was nature themed, but that
sounds weird. I started with a color palette and went from there. Overall everything was
neutral with tans and warm ivories and pops of yellow, turquoise, and orange were added
through flowers, paper goods and other decor.

My favorite part of the decor were the organic centerpieces on the tables. Bold American
killed it!  Great food and beautiful design. We had dinner buffet style so guests were able to
eat as they pleased. Between saying hello to everyone, dancing, and cutting the cake...
my wedding planner grabbed me and told me it was time to make our exit.  I felt like the
party had just begun. We walked out through a tunnel of sparklers held up by our
closest friends and family.  Then I rode off into the night with my husband.

SAYING I DO

We got married at King Plow Arts Center in Atlanta, Georgia and it was the perfect setting
to host our big day. I love the juxaposition of the rough industrial interior and soft ambiance
created by candles and christmas lights. The ceremony was sort and sweet.

Another thing I loved about King Plow was that there are great back drops for photos.
Kyle Hale, our photographer, did an amazing job capturing our special day and our style.
That guy really knows how to work a camera.

Tomorrow, we head to the reception.

WEDDING STYLE

My dress was by Jenny Packham and I absolutely adored it. It fit perfectly and I loved
the soft romantic feeling of the layers of ruffles. I wish I could wear this dress everyday.
My handsome husband wore The Ludlow Suit by J.Crew.

J.Crew could have sponsored our wedding because we had all the entire wedding party decked out.
We chose to keep everyone neutral and color was brought in through the flowers and accessories.

Let's talk about the necklace. I knew before I even had my dress that I wanted to do
a big statement necklace and opt out of a veil. Once I had the dress it took me a while to find
the right necklace. Luckily I got to keep some of the maybe options (thanks mom!)
This necklace popped up in an email from Kate Spade one day and it was love at first sight.
Big, bold, & yellow! It was perfect!

Tomorrow we walk down the aisle.

THE MORNING OF

The morning of our wedding day started with an intimate brunch at my parents house.

After brunch, we all gathered in my mom's bathroom to get our hair and makeup done.
With all of my bridesmaids huddled around the mirror, it reminded me of being young and
playing dress-up with all of my mom's things. My mom did such a fantastic job
(as she always does) hosting the brunch with homemade baked goods
 and beautiful floral arrangements.

VACATION IN THE BVI'S

It is hard to believe we have only been back from vacation for two weeks now.
Looking through these photos, it feels like this trip was a lifetime ago. It was a
wonderful week spent with the family and it is a trip I will charish forever.

It was beautiful to fly into Tortola and take in the beautiful mountainous landscape.

Sea turtles were everywhere, and some of them looked like they had leopard spots.
My brother is an avid scuba diver and has a true talent for photography, especially
underwater photography. The boys dove several time throughout the trip. I snorkeled
because I am certified to dive, but I feel like I am missing out when I see my brother's photos.
They are killer!

Anegada had the most beautiful white sand and turquoise water. They are also known
for their lobster, which we enjoyed on the shore with our toes in the sand.

We set anchor by one of the most amazing sights my eyes have seen,
this little beach on Virgin Gorda. Our scenery was absolutely breathtaking and these
photos do not even do it justice.  We explored The Baths on Virgin Gorda which are
a maze of caves formed by boulders on the shore. Such a natural beauty.

Well that sums up our trip. I would do anything to be back on the boat and crusing around
the British Virgin Islands right now, but at least I have some great memories to hold me over.
